Literature Explorer
Explore research papers and their connections with OpenWorldLab’s interactive citation graph. Search for papers, researchers, or topics, then follow references and citing works to see how an idea developed.
Explore the research around a paper
- Build a citation graph by adding papers and expanding their references and citing works.
- Discover a researcher’s publications or search for work in a research topic.
- Filter loaded papers by publication year, open access, authors, venues, and citation counts.
- Switch to a publication timeline to explore when connected papers appeared.
- Export paper metadata and citations as CSV, BibTeX, RIS, or CSL JSON, and export graph connections.
How to get started
- Search for a paper, researcher, or topic in the search panel.
- Add a paper to the graph and select it to inspect its publication details.
- Expand references to explore earlier work, or citing papers to follow later research.
- Use filters to focus the graph, then export the papers you want to keep.
Research data and coverage
Research coverage varies between publications, and missing references or metadata can leave gaps in a graph. Use the explorer to discover relevant work, then check the original publications when evaluating evidence for a literature review.
